XIV INTERNATIONAL ORGANIC WINE CONTEST

Vega Tolosa Family Payments has received several EcoVino awards in the fourteenth international organic wine competition, XIV INTERNATIONAL ORGANIC WINE CONTEST, the most important international organic wine competition.

The Eco Vino Awards recognize wine producers who implement sustainable and environmentally friendly methods in the production of their wines. This contest was held at the Sensory Analysis Room of the Scientific-Technological Complex of the University of La Rioja, where more than 300 references from more than 30 wine-growing regions were valued.

Among the prizes won are Grandes Ecovinos de Oro for Capricho DiVino Sauvignon Blanc 2022 in the category ‘Whites without wood’, one Ecovino de Oro for Finca Los Halcones Chardonnay 2021 in the category ‘Whites without contact with wood’ , and one Ecovino Rural de Oro for Bobal Icon 2021 in the category ‘Tintos en contacto con wood’. These awards are a testament to Pagos de Familia Vega Tolosa's commitment to quality and excellence in wine production.

Vega Tolosa, a family winery of Casas Ibáñez (Albacete) in full expansion, we have managed to grab the attention of critics and the public. The winery located in La Manchuela, specifically in Casas Ibáñez (Albacete) has old organic Bobal vineyards, grown in the Cabriel Valley area declared by UNESCO as a ‘Biosphere Reserve’. Pagos de Familia Vega Tolosa is the third generation of a ‘Tolosa’ surname linked to the countryside, which with more than 30 years of work has cultivated our vineyards in order to produce the best wines, organic, vegan, covered by the Manchuela PDO and thus be able to market them throughout the world.

Building a future project for the new generations to join the rural world, viticulture, oenology, in general to the world of wine. And always looking for meaning to the value of things, to work well done and respect for Nature. The company is headed by two young women, Mariluz and Rocío Tolosa, fifth generation of a saga that is the first and only one of the Manchuela PDO to make sparkling wines with the chardonnay variety.

Obtaining these awards is a recognition of the effort and commitment in the production of high quality and sustainable wines. Since 1998 we have shown that it is possible to produce excellent wines in an environmentally responsible manner.
